Process Viscometer KV100-Ex-TM25
The viscometer KV100-Ex works on the principle of a Capillary Viscometer
with continual volume flow and measurement of pressure decrease over the measuring
capillary.
Its basic components are the driving head and the flow measuring device connected
by a spacer tube. The driving head holds a synchronous motor with change gear. The
immersion-type measuring unit holds a gear pump, the intake fitting and the
exchangeable measuring capillary, as well as ducts for the supply of the process
pressure and for the transport of overpressure from the entrance of the measuring
capillary to the connections of pressure transducers.
The gear pump, which is driven by the driving head through a shaft via magnetic
coupling at constant speed, continually takes a constant volume flow from the process
medium and feeds it through the measuring capillary as a steady flow.
The pressure decrease between the two ends of the measuring capillary, which is
proportional to viscosity, is investigated by a differential pressure transducer.
Pressure differences are transformed into standard electrical signals 4...20 mA,
which can be used for display and as a control signal.
For direct installation on containers, tanks, or reactors at any position
the viscometer has a DIN flange connection. The inlet of the aspiration tube
must always be located within the representative fluid.
The process viscometer can be completed with an electronics unit for more
functions of instrument control, signal processing, correction of characteristic
lines of the gear pump, as well as for the temperature adjustment of viscosity.
